Upper Extremity PAD
Upper Extremity PAD affects the arteries of the arms or chest, and is much more common on the left side of the body. It is far more infrequent than lower extremity PAD. The most common symptoms occur in the arms and hands, including pain, numbness, tingling, weakness, sensitivity to cold, sores that don't heal, and dizzy spells or vision changes with use of arms. Symptoms often accompany use of the arms overhead. Treatment ranges from minimally invasive stents to bypass surgery.
