Endovascular Graft

During this procedure, a small opening is made in both your right and left groin. From each side, a tiny tube is threaded into an artery toward the aneurysm. Each tube carries part of the graft, made of fabric-covered stents. Once in place, the grafts are expanded and attach to the aorta above and below the aneurysm using metal grippers combined with friction. The blood now flows through the graft, instead of the aneurysm. This procedure is much easier on patients than open surgery, but the graft doesn't fit every size of aorta, and it can sometimes shift out of place. This means that you would need to return for regular CT scans to make sure the graft remains in the correct location.
