Carotid Artery Stenosis

This is a narrowing of the carotid arteries in the neck – usually due to plaque build-up. Since these are the main arteries that supply blood to the brain, this condition increases a patient's risk of stroke – which is most commonly caused by a blood clot plugging the constricted artery.
