Artery Disease

In artery disease, plaque builds up in the arteries, obstructing blood flow. If the section of the body served by the affected artery doesn't get enough oxygen or nourishment, it can become damaged. Unless the artery is cleared or bypassed, the eventual result is typically gangrene (dead tissue), organ failure, or even amputation.
